We made it through another week! These last few days have felt like two years and for some reason I never knew what day it was. Anybody else?
This is a recap of the five artists I listened to the most over the past week and which of their songs was my favorite. I’ll be pulling all of my data from last.fm, a website that tracks every song you listen to and compiles all the data to give you different stats on your listening trends.
This past week (March 1 through March 7) I listened to a total of 879 songs, 233 less than last week. I actually made a comment to my husband last night that I felt like I hadn’t listened to much music lately, and these numbers prove that. Of the music I did listen to though, here are the five artists I listened to the most:
Honestly, at this point, is anybody surprised to see them on this list? They’re now my most played artist in 2019 and I really don’t see that changing any time soon. What can I say? I’m a sucker for them. Which, by the way, I listened to Sucker 88 times this week. sorrynotsorry.
I had no idea that Hozier was releasing a new album. Even though I like his first one and I’ve listened to it several times, he’s an artist that I often forget about and don’t listen to very often. There’s something about Wasteland, Baby! that just clicked with me and I found myself continuing to go back to it this week.
I’m still not over thank u, next. Lyrically it isn’t the most impressive or mind blowing, but it’s so emotional and a great representation of what she has been through this past year. So many of the tracks on this album are absolute bops and there’s always at least one song stuck in my head.
I really haven’t known about dodie for too long, but I’m already a life long fan. She seems like the cutest softest person and I hope that I’m able to see her live some day.
This is one of the post hardcore bands that I enjoy and this week we’ve been listening to them on vinyl. Fun story for y’all: When my husband and I first got together I had a cheap little record player and a few records that I really loved. I encouraged my husband to get some records from artists that he enjoyed, but he said it was ridiculous and there was no way he’d enjoy listening to music that way. He finally gave in though, I think his first purchase was Bon Iver, and now he has around 250 records and a huge obsession.
Thanks for joining me for another week of Friday Jams! I’d love to know what music you’ve been listening to lately or if you have any suggestions for me based off any of the above artists!
