If you’re visiting my corner of the internet then it’s likely you love books as much as I do. I think it’s impossible to talk about books too much, but I thought today I’d share some things about me that have nothing to do with them. So are you ready to learn a little more about me?
Name a cartoon character that you love.
Hilda! Oh, I love Hilda so much. She’s spunky, full of life, and such a sweet soul. I haven’t read the graphic novel yet, only the novelizations, but the cartoon Netflix turned it into is the absolute cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
What is your favorite song right now?
If I have to only choose one song then I’m going to go with Guiltless by dodie. It’s one that just reaches into my heart. Were I to choose an entire album though it’s no surprise that I’m incredibly obsessed with Happiness Begins from the Jonas Brothers.
What could you do for hours (that isn’t reading)?
Video games! Sims 4 was on sale on the Playstation for only $10 so I finally got it and I’ve been super obsessed the past few days. I actually haven’t been reading at all because I’ve been too busy playing it. My husband and I also play a ton of games together.
What is something you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?
It’s unfortunately been years since I’ve last done it, but I adore riding horses. They are such incredible animals and I love feeling free and connected to them.
What is your favorite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?
Don’t freak out, but I love murder and true crime. I could sit on the couch and watch murder documentaries all day. They’re so fascinating!
What is something unusual you know how to do?
I didn’t know how to answer this because I couldn’t think of anything, so I asked my husband. According to him it’s freakish how quickly I can spout off any Bible verse he asks about. Growing up I had to do a lot of Bible memorization, and I guess it stuck.
Name something you’ve made in the last year (and show us if you can)!
Arts and crafts aren’t really my thing. It usually just doesn’t end well. The most recent thing I remember creating was the opening six lines of the book I have an idea for.
“She was late. Of course she was. Would she even be Marin Sullivan anymore if she wasn’t late? Her first day as a summer camp counselor for five-year-olds and she was already making the worst first impression. The kids were probably about to all be dropped off, unsupervised, running around. The mayor would be forced to declare a state of emergency from all the chaos and pandemonium caused from Marin’s inability to use the snooze button responsibly.”
This might not even be a valid answer since this tag is supposed to be about everything but books, but it’s all I got.
What is your most recent personal project?
There isn’t a lot of extra time for me to really have any personal projects, so I’m going to go with this blog. I call it my passion project.
Tell us something you think about often (maybe while staring out of windows).
I feel weird for saying this, but my head isn’t full of random thoughts all the time? It’s a pretty quiet place. If I’m staring out a window then honestly I’m probably just thinking about whatever the weather is doing at that moment in time. If I’m not staring out a window then most likely my thoughts are occupied by whatever anxiety is worrying me the most.
Give us something that’s your favorite, but make it something oddly specific.
The smell of mint is my absolute favorite, but it’s best when you’re taking a shower so hot that the entire bathroom fills with steam and then you use a body wash or shampoo that’s mint scented. The smell clings to the steam and is everywhere and it’s so refreshing and relaxing.
Say the first thing that pops into your head.
My son is o b s e s s e d with Paw Patrol so he’s just constantly scooting around and saying “Chase. Chase. Chase.” It’s adorable.
That’s it for the tag! Before you go, what’s one of your oddly specific favorite things? I’m dying to know, so let me know int he comments!
