It’s time for another round of 24in48 and I AM SO EXCITED! Seriously, I’ve been looking forward to this since I first participated back in January. I didn’t manage to complete 24 hours of reading, but I still had a blast, and I’m feeling hopeful for this round.

If you aren’t familiar with 24in48 then here’s some background information! During the 48 hours that make up July 20 and 21 (it’s held twice a year in January and July), participants are challenged to read for 24 hours. You can break up the time however you want, go solo or pair up with friends, get your family involved… However you do it is up to you!
The hosts have challenges and discussion topics every few hours and encourage you to check in with other participants. It’s a crazy, sleepless, drunk on books 48 hours and it’s simultaneously one of the most fun and most stressful things I’ve ever done. Even if you don’t manage to read for 24 hours, it’s fun to challenge and push yourself to your limits and see how much reading you can get done.
This round I’m hoping to complete the SEVEN books down below. It seems like a lot for 24 hours but I really want to push myself. If I can’t get through all of them that’s okay. I can dream though, right? I won’t be reading any books I currently have for review because I want to focus on simply reading and not on analyzing and gathering a bunch of thoughts on them.
The Summer of Jordi Perez (And the Best Burger in Los Angeles) by Amy Spalding – I’ve heard this is a super sweet book! Thanks for gifting it to me, Heidi.
Blankets by Craig Thompson – This is supposed to be incredible and it’s been sitting on my shelf for several months because I’ve been too nervous to read it. I think it’s finally time.
Past Perfect Life by Elizabeth Eulberg – I haven’t read anything by this author yet, but this was the book I chose for my Book of the Month box.
Imposters by Scott Westerfeld – The Uglies series is one of my favorite things on this earth. I’m so excited to finally be returning to that world!
Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff – I reread Illuminae back in May in preparation for finally reading Obsidio. My heart has healed a little so I think it’s time for Gemina again.
Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff – I’m a little ashamed that I haven’t read this yet but I’M JUST REALLY SCARED, OKAY? I know Amie and Jay are going to rip my heart out and I just haven’t been ready yet.
Gone Rogue by Marissa Meyer – I loved returning to The Lunar Chronicles in Wires and Nerves so I’m really looking forward to this one! Iko is such a treasure.
I’ll be posting lots of updates and checking in regularly during the readathon on Twitter so make sure you follow me there! Next weekend I also plan on doing a recap post here, so stay tuned for that.
Are you participating in this round of 24in48? Is there a book on my TBR you think I should prioritize? Let me know in the comments!

Have fun! I’ll be participating too tomorrow when I wake up.

Enjoy, but I think I’ll pass… I doubt I could read for 24 hours!

It was definitely hard to do, but I had a great time challenging myself to reach my goal!

I am hoping to finish the 24 for the first time. Thankfully I actually have a free weekend to read for the readathon. Good luck on finishing your books!

I hope you’re able to participate during the next round! Even if you don’t manage to read the full 24 hours, it’s so nice to dedicate an entire weekend to reading.

This looks like a really fun readathon. I’ll have to join next time!
On your list:
-I have actually started Jordi Perez and set it aside for reserves that came in. I need to get back to it
-Illuminae is pretty high up on my TBR. I just couldn’t handle the audiobook when I borrowed it because of the voice distortions they had. It’s a shame because it’s a full cast audiobook which tend to be pretty fun!
-I NEED to get my hands on a copy of Nerves and Wires. I always forget to check for it when I’m at the library
Hope your having a great time reading!

It’s so fun! I hope you’re able to participate during the next round!
– Jordi Perez was the only one I wasn’t able to get to 😦
– I haven’t listened to the audio of Illuminae. It seems like it would be really overwhelming and hard to keep track of?
– I really loved Wires and Nerve but didn’t enjoy Gone Rogue >.<

I know I’m a little late but I hope you finished a lot of these! I listened to two audiobooks in the 24in48 because I went on a roadtrip. Here’s to hoping you have a lot of reading time and get through all of these immediately!
