I read some really incredible books last week and I loved every second of it! August hasn’t been my best reading month, but the quality of books have been exceptionally high. I don’t plan on reading too much this week because my son has a heart procedure on Wednesday so we’ll be spending some time in the hospital.
Here’s a look at how last week’s TBR went and what I’m hoping to read this week!

Holy guacamole The Liar’s Daughter by Megan Cooley Peterson was so good! Only a few short hours passed from the time I started reading to the last page. Piper’s story is so compelling that I had no choice but to read it all right there and then. I was so impressed by Peterson’s young adult debut and it’s definitely one I recommend pre-ordering if you can. Read my full review to see all the reasons why I loved it!

So much emotion! Candace Ganger definitely did not disappoint with Six Goodbyes We Never Said. Her writing is poetic and there is such incredible representation included. I don’t think a book has ever made me feel so seen when it comes to anxiety. My full review will be posted tomorrow, so I don’t want to give too much away, but know that this is one you will not want to miss.

I am so incredibly thankful that the publisher saw on Twitter my desperate pleas for an ARC of Shatter City by Scott Westerfeld and sent it to me. I only recently finally read Imposters and it blew me away. The Uglies series is so special and close to my heart and returning to that world was a dream come true. I’m so excited to see where Westerfeld takes us next!

The Tenth Girl by Sara Faring is one I’m really looking forward to but also really nervous about reading. I don’t often get creeped out by horror books but for some reason I have a feeling that this is one that will creep me out. The boarding school aspect I think is what’s going to push it into scary territory. Maybe not the best choice to read when I’m by myself with my toddler at the hospital but I’m going to do it!
What are you hoping to read this week? Let me know in the comments!
The tenth girl has caught my eye a couple of times, hope you enjoy

I’m hoping to finish KING OF SCARS and then continue on with the Witcher series this week! I am going camping (and will have no cell reception!!!) so hopefully I can get a couple books knocked off my TBR! Hope you enjoy your reads!

I still haven’t read King of Scars! I want to reread all the other books first and it just hasn’t happened yet. I hope you have fun camping and get a lot of reading done!

I’ve been wanting to read more horror and The Tenth Girl keeps coming up a lot. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be easy for me to get my hands on a copy so I’m thinking it might make a good spooky October read 👻

I’ll have a review of it next Monday. Or maybe Thursday. One of those days 😂 If you’re wanting a spooky read right now you should look into Remember Me by Chelsea Bobulski!
