It’s been a couple of weeks since my last Sunday Stacks post because I’ve been so busy I didn’t have much time to read. This week should be a bit calmer so I’m hoping I’ll be able to get back into the swing of things.
Here’s a look at how the last TBR went and what I’m hoping to read this week!
Holy guacamole this was so good! I loved Imposters but Shatter City felt like it had more of the essence and personality from Uglies. Scott Westerfeld’s books have always been a great examination of where the world is at and the direction it’s going and Shatter City is no exception. You can read my full review if you want to know more of my thoughts! In short though it was great ad I really can’t wait for book three.
So I’m only on the second chapter of The Tenth Girl by Sara Faring right now. Already though it has so many creepy vibes and I’m looking forward to seeing what the author has in store. It’s a little bit wordy and for some reason hard to read – like I really have to slow down and concentrate. I prefer books that flow a little quicker and don’t bog me down but I’m not keen on giving up on this one quite yet. I’m planning on finishing it today so I can have a review for you tomorrow.
I am always in the mood for a good survivalist story so I’m excited that The Speed of Falling Objects by Nancy Richardson Fischer is finally at the top of my TBR. This comes out at the beginning of October and it has already received some pretty great reviews. Fingers crossed I won’t be the black sheep on it because that would be just my luck.
I found Watches and Warnings by Ryan Wolf on NetGalley after its release. If you missed my novels in verse recommendation post then you probably don’t know how much I adore these books but it’s a lot. So of course when I saw this story was in that format I immediately jumped on the request button. I’m also drawn to stories that feature tornadoes because they terrify me so much – even though I live in Oklahoma where there’s a ton of them.
What are you planning on reading this week? Let me know in the comments!
