ARC Apocalypse Announcement and TBR

Back in November, Destiny from Howling Libraries asked if anybody was behind on review copies or had ever felt overwhelmed by their stacks of unread ARCs and I answered with a huge YES. To help with the problem so many of us face she created ARC Apocalypse!

This is a yearlong readathon dedicated to helping and inspiring us to get caught up on our unread review copies. My goal is to get through all 48 that I currently have, 42 physical and 6 NetGalley, as well as any additional ones that come in.

My TBR

I’m going to break all these down by their release years because I don’t have any idea how else to do it. I only started blogging in March of last year but I’ve been a member of the book community for years longer. Giveaways were won and trades were made – and though I read and casually reviewed on Goodreads the ARCs quickly piled up. Here are all the ones I’m hoping to clear out…

The Game Plan

I’m going to try and review as many of these as possible since they are review copies. I’ll be giving myself some leniency and grace though because the last thing I want to do is put too much pressure on myself and end up burnt out. At first, my primary focus will be on the 2020 ARCs and those will definitely all get reviews. Once those are taken care of I’ll move on to the backlog.

Most likely I’ll also be posting monthly updates that will consist of my progress (which books I’ve read), mini reviews for the ones that won’t be getting full reviews, and whether or not I obtained new ARCs. You can follow my progress through those posts and I’ll also be creating a thread on Twitter and using #ARCApocalypse!

Tell me, are you planning on participating in ARC Apocalypse? How many unread review copies are sitting on your shelf? Are there any I need to read that you love suggest I should prioritize? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Yay! I’ll be joining in on the ARC fun with this challenge too πŸ™‚ I’m hoping that I can clear out all my ARCs but I also don’t wanna take the fun out of it by putting too much pressure on myself either. We got this lol Good luck, Mari!

    1. Ah! Yay! Good luck getting through as many ARCs as possible! I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself too but that never works out haha. I’ve made my way through six ARCs so far and only read one non review book but it was still for a blog post. I need to get better about reading just to read it without feeling the need to analyze it.
